LOCATION: BRIGHTON SEAFRONT U.K
CLIENT: Miss Feilding

BRIEF:
*To revamp what was already there and improve the circulation and function of the garden whilst maintaining a family feel and providing an entertainment area for parties and gatherings.

*Include a play space for the kids and a pergola at the end of the garden.

*To create a cottage rambling garden feel, with the addition of new structures and re-using existing walled borders/pond plants.

THE PROCESS:

CLIENT CONSULTATION:  it was established through browsing through books and images and discussions on functionality style and form that the client expressed a liking for cottage gardens and a wild overgrown feel with plants dangling over the existing border walls as opposed to a formal more modernistic style.
Preferred plant colours and habits were identified  alongside the practical desires such storage, washing line, structures, play area, composting, entertaining area.

PRELIMINARY:

The client was presented with a montage of plants that provide all year round interest and will thrive in the garden's seaside location.
Shrubs, climbers, herbaceous perennials and some edible plants such as herbs and fruit were agreed upon.
The plants express the colours and schemes the client requested and will complement the gardens  existing plants.


DRAWINGS PRODUCED:

Once the client agreed to the proposed style, colour scheme and functional suggestions a site survey was done of the garden and the following drawings were produced and presented to the client to keep.
